MiCleft Formal Volunteers are those members that want to make a difference, and who willingly dedicate themselves to work strategically with others toward completing our mission to enriching the lives of others affected by cleft lip and palate, and other congenital facial differences. It is the combined effort of these formal volunteers that comprise the Support & Advocacy Committee and Service & Awareness Committee which ensure each member group of having most-positive impact on the community we serve.
Volunteers should commit themselves to ethical and professional conduct, and exercise appropriate decorum toward members of the craniofacial community, as well as to Michigan Cleft Network, Inc. Volunteers must represent non-conflicted loyalty to the interest of MiCleft. This accountability supersedes any conflicting loyalty such as that to other advocacy or interest groups, business or personal interests, and/or volunteer efforts and services to other organizations holding same or similar interests in supporting individuals affected by craniofacial anomalies.
All committee meetings are 100% virtual. Committee members are expected to participate in each quarterly meeting and formal volunteers are expected to interface and communicate with committee leaders on a continual basis. As a formal volunteer and/or committee member, you are expected to adhere to the Code Of Ethics and enter into an agreement of confidentiality and dedication to MiCleft. Formal volunteers and committee members are also required to sign the Conflict Of Interest Policy form and complete a Formal Volunteer Waiver upon each consecutive year of service.
The next several years promise to be exciting ones for MiCleft, its members, and families of the craniofacial community.
